Description
Hunza, Pakistan - October 2, 2016: A view of the pristine blue waters of the naturally formed Attabad Lake in the Gojal Valley of Pakistan's northern Gilgit-Baltistan province. The lake was formed after a massive landslide in 2010 which blocked the flow of the Hunza River for five months. The lake inundated twelve miles of the Karakoram Highway linking Pakistan with China requiring a realignment of the highway and the construction of five tunnels. The lake has become a tourist attraction due to its turquoise waters and mountain backdrop.
